第227回例会

Meeting Report for the 227th Meeting of Chiyoda Toastmasters Club
February 16, 2017 19:00 – 21:00 at 2nd Meeting Room on the 7th Floor at Chiyoda District Sports Center.

The club in-house English Speech Contest was held at the 227th Meeting.


TM SF, President of Chiyoda TMC, announced the opening of the 227th Meeting at seven p.m. and then he briefly introduced today’s visitors and the guest TM ST from Nihonbashi Century TMC.

We thank you all of visitors and guest for the meeting tonight.

Then, the meeting control was passed to TM MT, who was assigned as Contest Chair for the in-house English Speech Contest.
TM MT leaded the contest agendas in a warm and gentle atmosphere.

TM MT introduced TM SK who act as Chief Judge for the contest, and then TM TM as Timer, TM NK and TM JY as Voting Counter and KF as Meeting Reporter.
The contest rule and the speaking order were explained by TM MT and then the Chief Judge’s Report was reported by TM SK.

TM MT officially announced the start of the club in-house English Speech Contest.

There were seven contestants:

The first contestant was TM J with the speech title of “Wish”, which was about some stories of wishes including Walt Disney’s characters, fascinating the audience by her gentle speech atmosphere.

The second contestant was TM SF with the speech title of “Boring Days” which was about the memorable change of his days at his second year of junior high school, being full of wonderful vocal varieties.

The third contestant was TM MF.
He will go to the next speech contest,so the content is secret.

The forth contestant was TM MK with the speech title of “Still I Can”, about the new technology of “AI” and the future, giving a valuable chance to audience thinking about our own time after eight years from now.

The fifth contestant was TM TT with the speech title of “Obento”, about her story of making her lunch boxes by herself with some steps of quality improvement, giving the audience very warm feelings.

There was a short break and the club members, visitors and guest enjoyed small talks with some sweets and drinks.

The sixth contestant was TM RK with the speech title of “We will be fine”, about the experience of his backpacker’s trip in south-eastern Asia when he was nineteen years old, showing the vivid scenes and learnings from the trip.

The seventh contestant was TM TY.
He will go to the next speech contest,so the content is secret.

We really enjoyed the unique messages of each speech, all of which were well considered and organized.

While the judge was being held, there was a table topic session.
The table topic master for tonight was TM TK and he brought a variety pack of small chocolates, because St. Valentine’s Day has just passed earlier of the week. Each of table topic speaker needed to make a short speech about the “word” on the chocolate they selected from the pack.

The first table topic speech was by TM AF, about his memory about “bitter” experience.

The second table topic speech was by TM EI, about his “black” clothes some time ago.

The third table topic speech was TM ST, about her “sweat” memory with her junior high school friend.

The fifth table topic speech was TM KF, about her “white” memory at the winter in Hokkaido.

The sixth table topic speech was TM MT, about her real story with “Meiji” chocolate.

The final table topic speech was TM NK, about the strange experience during her trip to Kenia.

After the table topic session, “Certificate of Participation” was passed to each contestant. And there was a photo session for all contestants, Contest Chair and Contest Judge.

And then the contest winners were announced by TM MK.

The winner, the second-best, and the third-best were TM TY, MF and RK respectively, and the top two speakers will go to the Area Contest which will be held next month.

Congratulation to the winners and we all believe that speeches at the Area Contest will be wonderful as tonight and even more wonderful!!!

Finally, the winner of today’s table topic speeches was announced.
The winner was TM NK. Congratulation to TM NK!

Now the all of the agendas of the club in-house contest were successfully completed the meeting control was back to Club President TM SF. Thank you for all of contestants and supporting members.
We were all happy with smiles by finishing the contest speeches or listening to nice quality speeches
