Chiydoa TMC 225th Meeting Report
Thursday, January 19 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Kanda Koen Kuminkan
ToastMaster Of the Evening (TMOE) is our club’s nice aged gentleman Mr. S. Originally another TMOE was assigned until last Saturday but he could not make it thus Mr. S kindly raised hand for alternative TMOE, many thanks Mr. S.
He brought 松岡修造’s calendar for cheer up our motivation and chose today’s word “nervous” “緊張する” in English.
After introduction and role explanation of meeting supporters, we went into prepared speech session because we will have special program latter half of the meeting.
1st speaker was Ms. K with speech title of “私の1番大切なもの”(her most important treasure), her very first speech.
This title was very good to attract our audience’s attention, she began her speech by introducing her 3-year-old daughter.
She confessed that her mindset for work-life balance changed drastically after having her daughter and also introduced that having her own child is full of learning experiences.
She kept good smile, eye-contact and easy-listening voice, it was brilliant ice-breaking speech.
After enjoying heartfelt fresh speech,
2nd speaker Mr. K provided his 10th speech in very fluent English.
He made speech under title of “It’s never too late” ,introduced how we should keep up high motivation when we built-up New Year resolution by using visual aids very effectively.
It was very appropriate topic later January.
Ms. Y introduce very nice book “心に火をつける創業者100人の言葉 (100 entrepreneur’s words to motivate your passion).
This is Chiyoda TMC’s original session “今夜の一冊”(Tonight’s book) speaker show her favorite book.
Mr. Y controlled general evaluation session very effectively with his sexy smile.
Ms. F evaluated 1st speaker Ms K. Ms. F praised many good points of Ms. K, especially Ms. K relaxed even though it was her first speech opportunity which many people become very nervous.
Mr. KN evaluated 2nd speaker Mr. K.
Mr. KN remembered he made evaluation for Mr. K’s second speech so Mr. KN commented Mr. K’s improvement through his eight times of speech chances.
Mr. K accomplished his great accomplishment of Competent Communicator (CC) manual.
Our Club President Mr. F passed 15 Advance Communication manual to Mr. K. Congratulations Mr. K for completion CC manual, you are now Competent Communicator!!
Mr. I made short speech for tonight’s snack, we had five minutes break with snack and beverage.
Tonight we invited special guest, Mr. M, 2016 Japan spring Japanese speech champion.
He did his champion speech again in order to make our understanding his presentation easily.
Then our club’s Mr. S did test speech with title of “私の親孝行” (How I contribute to my parents).
His speech’s point was to make his parents good use of IT infrastructure.
Mr. M’s workshop consisted by brushed up Mr. S’s speech by providing hard and harsh feedback from various aspects which he experienced last spring.
Overall, Mr. M’s workshop was really audience-friendly and applicable for all of us toastmasters.
As a remark of Chiyoda TMC member’s gratitude, Ms. K presented sweet chocolate to Mr. M.
Mr. M, we really appreciate giving us tremendous workshop.
We will foster this year’s speech champion!!
We will have Japanese (Feb. 2) and English (Feb. 16) club in-house speech contest at next two-times club meeting.
Anyone who is interested in speech and guest is welcome!
