千代田トーストマスターズクラブってどんなところ? 会員突撃レポート1 -Member’s Interview (1)
みなさんこんにちは!
2023年がスタートしましたね!
今年もどうぞよろしくお願いいたします。
千代田トーストマスターズクラブの広報担当 NAOです。
さて、今回は千代田トーストマスターズクラブのことをみなさんにもっと知ってもらおう!
・・・ということで、始めた新しい企画です。
今回の突撃レポートを受けてくださったのは、現在、千代田会長のK木さんです。
K木さんは、ご自分で「陰キャラ」だと言いますが、
彼は人間関係を築くのはうまいし何か困った時に相談すると明確なアドバイスが返ってきます。
そんなK木さんに、トーストマスターズに入会する前の悩みや、きっかけ、入会によって得られたものなどについてお聞きしました。
では、「千代田トーストマスターズクラブ(以下千代田TMC)のK木さん 突撃レポート」どうぞ!

NAO :
K木さん こんにちは
今日は千代田TMCのことをまだ知らない人のために、クラブの魅力やスピーチ上達のコツなど「生の声」を届けたいと思います。
いろいろと質問させてもらいますので、よろしくお願いします!
NAO :
では、さっそく、一つ目の質問から入りたいと思います。
K木さんがトーストマスターズに入る前の悩みはどんなものがありましたか?
K木さん:
私はもともと専門職で閉じた人間関係の中で仕事が行われるので、自分の世界が狭いと感じました。
交流関係を広げたいなと思ってトーストマスターズに入会しました。
NAO :
K木さんがいろいろな人との交流を求めてトーストマスターズに入会されたことを私は初めて知りました。
なるほど。
では、千代田トーストマスターズクラブ(以下千代田TMC)を選ばれた理由はどんなものがあったのでしょう?
K木さん:
千代田TMCを選んだ理由は、通勤の途中だから交通の便がよいこと。
あとは、日本語と英語が話せるところだからです。
日本語だけ、英語だけなど、片方だけはいやだなと思っていました。
日本語がきちんとできないと英語でも話せないと思ったので、最初は日本語でスピーチをして
自信がついたら英語にチャレンジしようと考えました。
慣れてきたら、週替わりで英語と日本語を交互に行いました。
NAO :
K木さんの中で、スピーチに対する自分の達成目標が明確におありだったのですね。
K木さんは、昨年末にディビジョンコンテスト(全国大会に進むためのコンテスト)にも出場されました。
惜しくも全国大会出場は逃してしまいましたが、すばらしいスピーチでした。
K木さんがトーストマスターズにはいつ入会されたのですか?
K木さん:
2010年8月入会ですから、12年経ちますね。
NAO :
12年ですか! 長いですね。
12年の中で印象的なできごとを挙げるとしたらどんなことがありますか?
K木さん:
トーストマスターズでは「ほらふき」コンテストがあるのですが
その全国大会が日経ホールで行われました。
600人が収容できる大ホールでほらを吹くという!（笑）
それはとても印象深いできごとでしたね。
NAO :
600人の前でおもいきり「ほらを吹く」経験ってなかなかないですからね。
K木さんがニヤリとする気持ちがちょっとわかるような気がします。
でも、緊張はしなかったのですか?
K木さん:
私は人前で話すのは好きな方です。それほど緊張した経験はないですね。
NAO :
すごい。私だったら緊張して夜も眠れなくなってしまいそうです。
12年の間でさまざまな経験をされたかと思いますが
トーストマスターズ入会前と後ではどんなふうにご自分が変わったと思われますか?
K木さん:
ああ、すごく自分が変わったと思います。
もともと自分は「陰キャラ」でしたが、千代田TMCのメンバーが「陽キャラ」の人が多くて
ノリノリの人も多いし、刺激を受けました。
コミュニケーションの幅が広がったし、コミュニケーションしやすくなりました。
自分ではスピーチはうまくなった実感はあまりありませんが・・・。
NAO :
全国大会まで勝ち進めるスピーチをされたのですからすばらしいスピーカーですよ!
K木さんを大きく変えたトーストマスターズですが、どんな人にオススメしたいですか?
K木さん:
そうですね。まずは、ネクラな人にトーストマスターズを勧めたいですね。
特に、ネットで24時間過ごしている人や、人嫌いな人ほど入会してほしい。
人を信じられなくなっている人ほど勧めたいです。
K木さん:
千代田トーストマスターズクラブには、自分の殻に閉じこもりがちになる方がメンバーにいたけど
その彼は今やとても変わってきています。最近では色々な人と積極的に会話することができるようになっています。
その理由は、千代田TMCのメンバーが彼を突き放さなかったからだと思います。
最初のころの彼は、とてもマイペースで、必要な準備をしないで例会に来たりすることもありました。
それでも、そういった彼が千代田TMCに参加を続けていることには何らかの意味があるはずです。
だから、千代田TMCのメンバーは彼をそのまま受け入れたんです。
そして彼は、千代田TMCの会長を務めるまでになりました。
千代田TMCの雰囲気が、やりたいときはやればいいし、やりたくないときはやらなくてもいいよね。というゆるい感じなんです。
それでいて、一人一人の個性をとても尊重しているし大切にしてくれる。
だから、私は千代田トーストマスターズクラブをおすすめしますね。(^^)
NAO :
K木さん ありがとうございました。

ちょっと人間不信になっている、自分に自信がなくてひきこもりがちな方も、千代田TMCの雰囲気なら大丈夫かな、と安心されたのではないでしょうか?

What is Chiyoda Toastmasters Club like? Member’s interview 1
Hello everyone!
The year 2023 has started!
I am NAO, the PR person of Chiyoda Toastmasters Club.
This time, I would like to let you all know more about Chiyoda Toastmasters Club!
I am very happy to have this opportunity to introduce you to the Chiyoda Toastmasters Club.
I am going to interview Mr.K.
He is currently the president of Chiyoda Toastmasters Club(“Chiyoda TMC”).
He describes himself as a “negative character”.
But He is good at building relationships and he gives us clear advice .
Now,I ‘ll ask Him about the problems he had before joining Toastmasters, and what he gained by joining.

NAO :
Hi Mr.K.
Today, I will ask you various questions.
Let me start with the first question.
What kind of problems did you have before you joined Toastmasters?
Mr. K :
I had only a limited circle of friends due to my special profession under the closed environment.
I joined in Toastmasters to broaden my relationships.
NAO :
I see. Why did you choose “Chiyoda TMC” from many Toastmasters clubs?
Mr. K :
It is just because the venue of Chiyoda TMC is on the way to my office and is easy to access.
Further, I wanted to speak in both Japanese and English.
I didn’t want to speak in a single language, such as only Japanese or only English.
I was considering to at first try Japanese speech, and then try English one.
NAO :
You had a clear goal for your speech.
You competed in the Division Contest last year. (Division Contest is the contest to advance to the national (final) competition.).
Although you could not proceed to the final contest , you gave a wonderful speech.
Mr. K :
Thank you.
NAO :
When did you join Toastmasters?
Mr. K :
I joined Toastmasters in August 2010, so 12 years have passed.
NAO :
Wow! Wonderful, 12 years! It’s a long time!
What is the most impressive events in the past 12 years?
Mr. K :
Toastmasters once held the ” Tall Tales Speech Contest”, and I proceeded to the final stage of the contest.
The contest was held at Nikkei Hall in Tokyo.
This venue was a large hall that can accommodate 600 people.
That was a very impressive event for me.
NAO :
Excellent! You had a very wonderful experience.
Weren’t you nervous in making the speech?
Mr. K :
I like to speak in front of many audiences.
I have not been so nervous in speaking, as far as I remember.
NAO :
Wow. If it were the case for me, I would be so nervous that I would not be able to sleep the night before the speech.
I’m sure you have experienced many things over the past 12 years.
How have you changed after you joined in Toastmasters?
Mr. K :
Oh, I have changed a lot.
I used to be a negative person, but Chiyoda TMC’s members made me a “positive person”.
They are very energetic, and I have been motivated by them.
My communication style has significantly changed. I has become easier for me to deliver my thought to others, while I’m not sure .
My speaking skill has been improved…
NAO :
You are a wonderful speaker because you gave the speech that made it to the national competition!
Who do you want you recommend Toastmasters to?
Mr. K :
First , I would like to recommend Toastmasters to any persons of introverted personality.
for example,those who spend all day on the Internet or even have a distrust of people.
Mr. K :
Once a shy member joined in Chiyoda Toastmasters Club, but he has now greatly changed.
I think the reason is that members of Chiyoda TMC have been considerable of his feelings.
In the beginning, he went his own way and he was not cooperative with others.
Nonetheless,the members of Chiyoda TMC accepted him.
They trusted him and warmly watched over his growth. As a result, he grew to become the president of this club.
In Chiyoda TMC, members can try anything as they want to.
This is the reason why I recommend Chiyoda Toastmasters Club (^^)
NAO :
Through this interview, I got to know the essential of Chiyoda Toastmasters Club, which respects individuality of every member.
